A carbon dividend
I support the notion that America should lead an “Earth Race” to discover and produce clean energy for the world. But in order for the “Earth Race” to begin, the government must put a price on carbon. That’s the only way that clean energy can compete with fossil fuels.
How should we do this? A fee levied on carbon would increase the price. And refunding the fees to the American people in the form of a carbon dividend would minimize the impact of higher prices on the average American. It’s a win/win.
